The Girl Who Lived in the Dark

This is the heart breaking story of a brave 9-year old Chinese girl with skin cancer and of a determined paediatric dermatologist’s quest to save her life. The story begins in London where Dr David Atherton from the Great Ormond Street Hospital boards a plane to Shanghai and travels to a remote village in China to seek medical treatment for Wan Lao Yang, a little girl with a disfigured face. Through this selfless gesture, Dr Atherton aims to help Wan Lao attain her wish of going back to school.
