Broccoli - Contains Vitamin C, A and E, calcium and folic acid. Tomatoes Good source of Vitamin C and flavonoids. Contain antioxidant lycopene, which helps protect against prostate cancer and heart disease.
Grapefruit - One half contains half your daily requirement of Vitamin C. Eat the pith – the soluble fibre lowers cholesterol and contains folic acid and bioflavonoids to keep cancer at bay.
Red Onions - Contain Folic Acid, B6 and potassium as well as flavanoids to help reduce the risk of heart disease. May help raise HDL (good) cholesterol
Beetroot - Fresh, not pickled. Beetroot contains folic acid. Strawberries Rich in Vitamin C and ellagic acid, a compound with anti cancer effects.
Blackcurrants - Very rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K and body protecting flavonoids.
Carrots - Contain carotenoids, which protect against cancer, as do all orange foods. Try and eat at least one everyday.
Prunes - Contain iron, fibre, potassium and Vitamin A
