Beyond the next 3 months.
The next couple of months will seem very different. A diabetes diagnosis means adjusting to new routines and planning ahead.
Feeling anxious or worried is only natural.
But by taking one day at a time, you’ll find one thing soon becomes clear.
Life is for living.
“The thought of injecting terrified me. I hate needles and I don’t do blood. The insulin pen was a godsend. Quick and clean – job done.”
“When the diagnosis was confirmed, I thought ‘that’s it’. No more squash. 4 months in, I’m playing my league fixtures as normal. I just have to remember to plan for game days a little ahead.”
“You think ‘I don’t deserve this’. But over time you realise that it’s really all a matter of taking effective control.”
“I was very, very down for the first 3 weeks. I guess it was almost denial. The thing that made the difference was talking. My nurse insisted things would come good… and she was right. Gradually things began to fall into place.”
