Restylane SubQ
Restylane SubQ is a treatment designed for facial sculpting and changing facial contours. Being three times as thick as Perlane, Restylane SubQ is ideal for people who want to improve their facial contours without invasive cosmetic surgery or synthetic implants.
Areas usually targeted are the cheekbones, chin and jawline. Restylane SubQ can also be used to increase facial volume where cheeks have become hollowed due to significant weight loss.
Restylane SubQ typically lasts longer than other dermal fillers, sometimes in excess of 12 months.
How Does Restylane SubQ Work?
Restylane SubQ gel is injected into the skin using fine needles. The gel is comprised of hyaluronic acid which attracts water and increases volume in the skin, raising its profile or smoothing out wrinkles.
Treatment may be uncomfortable but should not be painful. A local anaesthetic is usually applied prior to injection
The treatment usually lasts for around 45 minutes and results will be noticeable immediately.
Are There Risks Associated With Restylane SubQ?
Restylane SubQ is a non-animal hyaluronic acid and as such is bio-compatible. More than 10 million people have received treatment worlwide and complications are rare. Some side effects following treatment can include redness, swelling, itching and burning. In most cases these clear up within 48 hours and on very rare occasions may take a week to subside.
Other complications can include itching, infection and ulcers but these are extremely rare.
How Long Does Restylane SubQ Last?
The effects of treatment will last between 8-12 months but depend on numerous factors such as age, skin condition and lifestyle.
How Much Does Restylane SubQ Cost?
Treatment with Restylane SubQ ranges from £600-£1200 but will vary according to the size and shape of the area being treated.
Who Will Provide Treatment?
Restylane SubQ should only be administered by a medical professional and treatment usually takes place in a clinic or doctor’s office.

Alternative Treatments
-
Collagen Injections: Collagen injections are used to remove crow’s feet, smile lines, nasolabial folds (under the nose) and frown lines.
-
Botox Injections: Botox injections relax the facial muscles so that frown lines and wrinkles disappear and can slow down the development of new ones.
-
Chemical Skin Peels: Skin peels are cosmetic procedures used to make the surface of the skin look smoother, younger and more evenly pigmented.
-
TCA Peels: Trichloracetic acid peels are relatively aggressive chemical peels typically used for moderate to deep peeling.
-
Laser Resurfacing: Laser skin resurfacing uses a laser to remove the outer layers of skin. As the wound created by the laser heals, the skin becomes smoother, firmer and less pigmented.
-
Dermal Fillers. Dermal fillers typically replace levels of collagen or hyaluronic acid in order to plump up the skin, ad volume and restore a more youthful appearance.
