Perlane Dermal Filler
Perlane is an injectable dermal filler that can last up to twice as long as collagen injections. Similar to Restylane, Perlane is a thicker form of NASHA gel which is injected into deeper wrinkles, lips and facial contours. The main difference between Perlane and Restylane is that Perlane has a larger gel particle.
How Does Perlane Work?
Perlane is comprised of hyaluronic acid which attracts water and plumps up the skin adding volume and smoothing out lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found throughout the body and the skin but depletes with age.
Perlane is injected into the skin using a very fine needle. Multiple injections may be needed depending on the areas you and your doctor would like to focus on.
Results will be noticeable immediately following treatment.
Are There Risks Associated With Perlane?
Perlane is a non-animal hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found throughout the body and is safe and bio-compatible. Very few complications are reported but can include temporary redness, swelling and bruising. These should disappear within a few days.
Other risks include itching, infection and ulceration. These are extremely rare.
How Long Does Perlane Last?
Six to nine months but as with all dermal fillers results will vary from person to person. Many people will choose to have top up treatments after about 12 months.
How Much Does Perlane Cost?
Treatments usually start from around £180
Who Performs Treatment?
Perlane should only be treated by a medical professional and will usually be administered in a doctor’s office or clinic.

Alternative Treatments
-
Collagen Injections: Collagen injections are used to remove crow’s feet, smile lines, nasolabial folds (under the nose) and frown lines.
-
Botox Injections: Botox injections relax the facial muscles so that frown lines and wrinkles disappear and can slow down the development of new ones.
-
Chemical Skin Peels: Skin peels are cosmetic procedures used to make the surface of the skin look smoother, younger and more evenly pigmented.
-
TCA Peels: Trichloracetic acid peels are relatively aggressive chemical peels typically used for moderate to deep peeling.
-
Laser Resurfacing: Laser skin resurfacing uses a laser to remove the outer layers of skin. As the wound created by the laser heals, the skin becomes smoother, firmer and less pigmented.
-
Dermal Fillers. Dermal fillers typically replace levels of collagen or hyaluronic acid in order to plump up the skin, ad volume and restore a more youthful appearance.
