<title>Honey useful for children's coughs and colds</title>
 <link>http://www.familyhealthguide.co.uk/coughs-and-colds-children.html#comment-30</link>
<description>I see that earlier this year there was some restrictions put on the availability of over the counter syrups for children. A growing number of doctors are suggesting a return to some traditional 'home remedies' such as lemon and honey (although honey shouldn't be given to those under 1 year).
See http://apitherapy.blogspot.com/2008/04/honey-recommended-for-childrens-cough.html for some coverage of it.

It sounds like the manuka honey - eg http://www.newzealandhoneyshop.co.uk/manuka-honey.html is even better than others, although in the first case I would just use what honey I already had in the cupboard. At least something such as honey and lemon is natural.
