The Power Of Optimism and Positive Attitude

Water_GlassThere are many reasons why it’s a good idea to maintain optimism and a positive attitude.

When we are positive and optimistic, despite how demoralizing and bleak a situation may seem to be, we are choosing not to be victims of the external world. We are acknowledging that regardless of what is going on, we are masters of our emotional fate.

It is, after all, a fact that happiness is a choice and that regardless of what has happened or is likely to happen, we can make the present moment a world of emotional riches that has meaning and value.

Additionally, when we are positive and optimistic, choosing to see the glass as half full rather than half empty, we end up realizing that we have a lot to be grateful for, we end up recognizing blessings in disguise, and we end up, more times than not, turning adverse situations into opportunities for success.

When we are positive and optimistic, we are less likely to allow our stress and our fear to influence us to say and do thoughtless, reckless, impulsive and self-destructive things which are not in our best interests and which can, oftentimes, compound our problems.

When we are negative, pessimistic and cynical, we tend to assume the worst, which dampens our problem-solving abilities and limits our potential to discover creative options that could deliver us from our fear, mobilize ourselves and others, and put us back on a path of self-determination and success

When we choose an optimistic and positive attitude instead, it helps us to see the bigger picture, stay focused on our goals, and not give up before the miracle happens.
